Harrogate Wedding Exhibition - My Stand
I took a bit of persuading by Gemma, one of the show organisers, but ultimately agreed to take a car to the UK Wedding Show at the Harrogate international Centre last weekend (26th and 27th October).
It was a manic week getting the printing done for the stand back-drop (Hats off to the Big Sign Company at Shiptonthorpe for pulling it out of the bag at very short notice - ring Ian on 01430 874075 for superb service) as well as sewing up new curtains (thanks Anna) and procuring some nice chrome barrier posts to protect my mint Corvette that we had on the stand. The posts were loaned to me by the KP Club near Pocklington. You should check out their website as they have some fabulous 'cabins' all with a hot tub as well as being a brilliant venue for parties. I can vouch for the superb quality of the food as I have been there to a wedding recently.
The show was really busy, I would guess at around 800 to 900 brides; although weddings are not really the main thrust of my business it was interesting to go to the show and there was an enormous amount of interest in my cars, so I guess I'll have to wait and see if the bookings follow!
A bride may not want to turn up to her wedding in a sports car but the groom may and ,of course, you have to find something to do with the rest of your life so why not hire a classic car and go for that touring holiday before the kids arrive?
Something else I feel compelled to mention is the performance by Jason Isaacs; I'm a sucker for all that Rat Pack music as well as Blues and Soul, so it really hit the spot. Chris did a short write-up that you can see on the Superior Motor Cars site, or you can go to Jason's site
